What a food hub does.
A food hub aggregates product from many farms and sells it to schools, stores, restaurants and sometimes households. If you grow, ask what they buy, what certification they require (GAP is common), and how and when they pay. If you buy, ask what is in season and what the minimum order is.
Worth asking before you go:
- What do you buy, and from how many farms?
- Do you require GAP or organic certification?
- What are your payment terms to growers?
If you run a plant, pack room or hub.
