OpenAgTechnology is a collective of growers, farmers, technologists, educators, consultants, manufacturers, distributors and researchers. All with the common objective to support and improve the global food system. Everybody everywhere eats. We don't compete. We create. We share.

What OpenAgTechnology is.

Open Agriculture Technology is more than hardware and software. It is the methods, the know-how, and the ways of doing things in the agriculture world. It is the appropriate technology for the need, for the budget, for the environment, the right tool, the right method or procedure, the right IoT device or the communications approach for moving data.

Taking part.

We are building a wide collection of information, concepts, methods, and online tools to share — openly and freely available. Some of the tools require registration. Most don't. We do encourage you to create a login and share your ideas and knowledge with the community. We have periodic newsletters and broadcasts you can opt in or out of. We believe in freedom, choices and sharing.

Frequently asked questions.

Is the library free to read?

Yes. The lessons, the glossary, and the reference material are free to read, and reading them doesn't require an account. A newsletter signup is there if you want to stay in touch.

Can I reuse the content?

The content is here to be read, used, and shared. Licensing details are in the site's terms; the rule of thumb is that it's meant to be useful, not locked down.

Can I hire someone to help set up a system?

Some members offer paid setup, integration, and consulting as independent professionals. Reach out through the Contact page and we can point you to someone whose work fits.

How do I get involved?

By doing the work — deploying the approach, writing up a problem and its solution, sharing a configuration, or answering questions. There is no application.

Is the site produced with AI?

Yes. Members work with AI assistants to draft and structure the content, and every page is reviewed before it goes live. The AI helps with the writing; the experience behind it is the members'.
