Serving Southwestern Indiana, Local Source strengthens the local food system by providing a year-round, online marketplace connecting producers of locally grown, raised and produced products with retail, wholesale and institutional customers. What is a Producer? A Local Source “Producer” is a vendor in the marketplace who grows, raises and produces products such as what would be found at a farmer’s market. Why our Market? Local Source is a farmer owned business. We support our local economy, community and businesses. We’re here for YOU.
Local Source Wholesale Food Hub, in its own listing
A food hub aggregates product from many farms and sells it to schools, stores, restaurants and sometimes households. If you grow, ask what they buy, what certification they require (GAP is common), and how and when they pay. If you buy, ask what is in season and what the minimum order is.
Worth asking before you go:
Cold chain and storage conditions, watched and recorded with sensors you own.
Moving local product at scale takes more than a truck. These help.
